Bill Herbert

William S. (Bill) Herbert conceived of CutShots at age 62. After 49 years of missing cut shots, something needed to be done before his time ran out. Bill was inspired by Buckminster Fuller’s famed Geodesic Dome, his Buckyball, and A.N. Ditchfield’s 272-sided Honeycomb Spherical Figure. Because of this, Bill designed the 112-figure CutShots ball to help pool players see, understand, and pocket cut shots. The design project began in 2008; patents were granted in 2011 and 2013, and the first CutShots balls were produced by Aramith in 2015.
Bill has earned degrees in Economics and Law. Additionally, he served in the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard of Minnesota and of New Mexico for 25 years. He also served in the Department of Interior and the Social Security Administration for 17 years. Bill has been happily married to Sharron Herbert for 47 years and they live in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tom Repczynski

Tom Repczynski grew up in New England and learned to play pool by trial and error at Mike’s in Bristol, CT. He holds degrees from Boston College and Southern New Hampshire University. Part of his military service was as the company commander of the 524th POL CO in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam. A career in sales came after the military; he has sold industrial products all over the US, Europe and the Far East. Tom now lives in Vero Beach, FL, after surviving decades of winters in New Hampshire.
Tom and Bill were roommates at Boston College in the mid-60s. They played too much pool at Bond Bowling and Billiards, on Washington Street in downtown Boston, then called the “Combat Zone”. Tom usually won because Bill couldn’t seem to make cut shots.
