EXPERIENCED PLAYERS

CutShots Balls will help a good player to play better. Do you ever miss a simple cut shot? Sure you do. More often than you want to -- or have to. It’s not missing the advanced and difficult shots that make you lose, it’s missing the “simple” cut shots you should make. Several things can be the “reason” for the miss, but most often it is not being absolutely sure of where to strike the object ball with what point on the cue ball. This is the flaw in your play that CutShots can get you over. Once you become accustomed to the Three Steps in every CutShots shot you take, you will begin to “see” your shot precisely, and be able to pocket it more often than you do now.

We are not trying to take your preferred method of play away from you. We want to make it better.

We recommend that you send your present aiming system away on a short vacation, along with your regular balls, english and position play. Spend a fair chunk of time using only CutShots balls and following their instructions. This exercise should sharpen your visual concentration on finer aiming points and result in greater overall visual precision when you return to your own game.

And that’s about all the CutShots propaganda you really need to read in this monograph that is written specifically for you, the experienced player. The other information you need will be found in the other sections of this website, stuff which is common to everyone, new players as well as you.

PARENTS & CHILDREN

CutShots is the perfect pool playing starter for a home table, or for a first trip to a family-friendly pool room. Using CutShots from the very beginning will prevent hours of “banging balls around” and losing interest in your new home pool table and in the sport of billiards.

Youngsters can readily understand the simple concept of making two identifiable points collide — the white cue ball’s Spot #2 hitting the yellow object ball’s Spot #1. Then they can easily learn the CutShots THREE-STEP shooting routine of two spots and a cue shift. [See the “How It Works” page.] Their progress will be apparent to them within a few sessions, by making longer runs of pocketed shots. They will sense progress and confidence.

Our suggested approach to get a youngster started is:

  • (a) give her/him a 4-ball Basic Set of CutShots,
  • (b) patiently go through the “How It Works” instructions with her/him at the table, and stating also that shorter shots are better shots to take than longer ones, at first.
  • (c) Once you sense that she/he understands, you leave the room. The youngster will take it from there.

Parents can do the same. It just takes a little longer. But you do it right along with your child, interacting in a tension-free game of mutual interest: who will make the longest run today? For this phase we suggest buying the 4-ball Extended Set of CutShots (all yellow), to have seven yellow balls on the table. Now run seven balls.

When a player’s skill and confidence have progressed to a point of reasonable competence with CutShots balls, it becomes time to transition to regulation pool balls. We recommend four phases: (1) switching first to a regulation white cue ball, but continuing with the CutShots yellow object balls. Later, change out the object balls, (2) first using just a regulation 1-ball alone, then soon... (3) adding the remaining six solid-color balls, and finally (4) using the full set of solids and stripes. During this transition period the same THREE-STEP routine should be used on every shot; and it should continue throughout the player’s career. 1…2…3, 1…2…3, 1…2…3, etc.

If competence and confidence ever backslide because of the greater challenge of regulation balls, return to CutShots and reestablish your child’s performance and enjoyment of the sport.

CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS

SALES OPPORTUNITIES FOR CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS

We believe that our patented CutShots Method and Aim Training Balls can be successfully incorporated into any instruction program. The earlier, the better — as soon as pocketing an object ball is presented in your curriculum.

You should try out a set. But envision that you are a beginning player and know nothing about where to aim, or what hits what. That’s what the CutShots Balls and Method will overcome for the novice player … maybe not today, but in a short time. Practice, practice, practice.

We realize that CutShots Balls are like training wheels, and will not be used forever. But they afford an early understanding of all angles, and so provide an excellent background for the ghostball method and similar methods you may teach. Their visual perception of spherical objects will develop, and they will be able to “see” the correct points of contact on regulation cue balls and object balls.

When it is time to introduce standard equipment, first change out the cue ball only, and a bit later the yellow object ball.

For solo practice, between instruction sessions, your student should have her/his own set. She/he can buy any set of CutShots Balls from you.

LEAGUE OPERATORS

SALES OPPORTUNITIES FOR POOL LEAGUE OPERATORS

Our patented CutShots Method and Aim Training Balls can be successfully marketed and sold to a high number of your league players. We suggest that you proceed in the following manner, but it’s up to you. You’re in charge.

  1. Purchase a 4-Balls set for yourself. Learn to use them. Be patient. Short shots first, then gradually longer.
  2. Personally teach a few novice players, one at a time, to their point of enthusiasm. Be patient. Short shots first, then gradually longer. Arrange for each one to practice -- alone and with CutShots only -- for several sessions.
  3. Demonstrate CutShots Balls to your team captains and other key persons in your league. Have one or two of your best novices show off the balls and method.
  4. Suggest to your team captains that they order a set of CutShots (through you), and themselves follow this method of introducing and selling CutShots to their team members.

CUTSHOTS CUE BALL’S ADDITIONAL FEATURE FOR ADVANCED PLAYERS

We “discovered” that the CutShots Cue Ball, used alone, is an excellent practice cue ball for advancing players. The several changing spins imparted to the cue ball by the stroke and the rails can be clearly seen by the various motions of the ball’s 112 Spots: first sliding and rotating, then caroming off the intended object ball, and then off any rails used for getting position.

For trick shot artists, the CutShots Cue Ball will substantially add to the “wow factor” of a seriously juiced shot. And the yellow CutShots balls are great for multi-ball trick shots.

ROOM OPERATORS

SUGGESTIONS FOR POOL ROOM OPERATORS

Your goal is to have your tables full of players to generate revenue. Ours is to sell CutShots Billiard Balls to generate revenue. We can work together for a win-win outcome.

With CutShots Balls available for use at your tables, new players will pocket more balls, see that they like the game, and enjoy practicing to improve. Rather than give up and walk away frustrated, they will become your steady customers, join a league, and bring in others.

The CutShots sets you buy, if promoted wellsee explanation below, -- will become revenue generators for you, and will pay for themselves times over. Players will buy solo table time specifically to practice with them.

When CutShots Balls are out on the floor being used, others will see them, catch on, and become your CutShots users themselves.

ALSO, a new player using CutShots can play a game of 8-ball against a more experienced player who uses solids from a regulation set. This feature should also increase your table revenue if you promote this use of your CutShots sets.

For this reason, we recommend that you purchase our CutShots Full Sets (8-balls), in a quantity consistent with the size of your operation. This is about one set for every 5-6 tables. We can decide this by phone.

You can actively promote CutShots use by doing the following:

(a) Place a pair of CutShots Balls visibly next to your cash register, on small display holders we provide. Customers will readily ask you, “What are these?”

(b) You tell them.

(c) You also take our CutShots Demonstration Board out from behind your counter and perform a simple demo routine, about 30 seconds once practiced, that explains the entire CutShots method in an easy-to-understand fashion.

(d) This will likely lead to a request for a “house set” of CutShots to try out. You have just set the hook!

With your first order, we will include a Demonstration Kit, on request, for use in your establishment.

You can also sell CutShots Sets to your player-customers.

Your league players who also have a table at home will want to buy a home-use set of CutShots. Why not buy it from you? We offer you CutShots Sets at Wholesale Prices*.

RETAILERS (SORRY, WE DO NOT WHOLESALE TO INTERNET-ONLY RESELLERS)

SALES AND MARKETING SUGGESTIONS FOR RETAILERS

Display several 4-balls CutShots Basic Sets in a glass showcase where you display your high-end 16-balls sets. Place a stack of three Basic Sets behind a fourth set placed on its side edge, with its top facing the customer.

Don’t display the CutShots near your pegboard display of single novelty balls. CutShots Sets are in a higher price category for all Sets, and should be displayed with your other Aramith sets.

You can actively sell more CutShots Sets by doing the following:

(a) Place a pair of CutShots Balls visibly next to your cash register, on small display holders we provide. Customers will readily ask you, “What are these?”

(b) You tell them.

(c) You also take our CutShots Demonstration Board out from behind your counter and perform a simple sales routine, about 30 seconds once practiced, that explains the entire CutShots method in an easy-to-understand fashion.

(d) This will likely lead to

(1) an immediate purchase, or

(2) a walk over to your demonstration table for a try-out, or

(3) “Well, I’ll think about it.” In the last case, you give a CutShots Instructions Tri-Fold for the customer to take home. Then, if it is your style, follow up by phone soon after.

With your first order, we will include a Demonstration Kit, on request, for use in your store.

Include CutShots sets in your Pool Table Accessories Packages.

Home table buyers usually have beginning players in their families, and this is one of CutShots’ main target audiences. You don’t want frustrated home table owners having buyer’s remorse by not pocketing balls. CutShots will provide faster progress and quicker satisfaction, especially for the kids in the family and their friends. And happy kids produce satisfied parents.

We recommend the CutShots Starter Set (2-balls) for inclusion in your Accessories Packages. The customer can later buy more yellow balls from you to expand their set. Your cost is $40.00, so it won’t add significantly to the customer’s overall table purchase. (In this bundled sales mode, we do not restrict retailers to the sets’ MAP prices, as there is no specific price identifiable to the CutShots Balls in your Accessories Package.)
